Located at the foot of the old town’s fortifications, the VILLA MAGALEAN Hotel & Spa was created when one of the neo-Basque
beach houses built in the 1950s was renovated and extended.Led by architect Iñaki Biurrun, this process involved reviving the standards of construction and decoration of the time: ceilings of carved beams, wrought iron balconies, dressed stone framing window apertures, venerable mouldings, parquets floors, Andalusian azulejos (ceramic tiles) and old floors. The interior decoration, both contemporary and timeless, in perfect harmony with the aesthetics of the 30-50 years of the villa’s history, testifies to the craftsmanship of the Basque Country and Spain.

The furniture, decorative items, books and paintings are testaments to the art of living and the Basque and Spanish traditions.
